STARTLING ALLEGATIONS
TIME RIPE TO ATTACK ENGLAND. (Received 11.4 a.m.) United Press Assn.—By Electrio Telegraph-t-Copyrigh t. When the nine accused from Manchester and Gavahan were charged with conspiracy at Manchester, the prosecution alleged that all were members of the I.R.A. The prosecution referred to the abortive explosions and produced copies of an I.R.A. Proclamation and a map of Manchester on which the police stations, power stations, barracks and railway stations were marked. Certain of the accused were found to be in possession of documents headed “Battalion orders, 5 declaring that the Conventions by a . twothirds majority had resolved that the time was ripe to attack England. General headquarters in Dublin ordered all units in Britain to begin special military training, threatening non-compliants with the orders with the possibility of death. The discovery is also reported of documents headed “Methods of war,” declaring that members not adopt Black and Tans’ bloodthirstiness but attack public services without causing loss of life. Oil February 2nd the seven arrested in Manchester on January 18 and the Glenn sisters, who were remanded on January 25 on a charge of being unlawfully in possession of explosives, were charged with conspiring to cause an explosion at Manchester. All were remanded. BOMB IN LETTER BOX. NO DAMAGE DONE. (Received 11.18 a.m.) LONDON, February 10. A ten-inch canister .wrapped in paper bearing the letters “I.R.A.’ was found in a letter-box at the Charing Cross Labour Exchange, London. It is believed to contain an explosive which an attendant rendered harmless by plunging in water.
