“DAD AND DAVE COME TO TOWN.” “Dad and Dave Come to Town,' Cinesound’s record-breaking comedy triumph, will commence a four-day season at the King’s Theatre tonight at 8 p.m. Bert Bailey and Fred MacDonald, the original "Dad' and “Dave” ot “On Our Selection,” have the principal roles and the supporting cast includes such sterling players as Shirley Ann Richards, Alec Kolia way and Sidney Wheeler. "Dad,” straight from the hush. inherits a city dress salon. With “Dave” (Fred MacDonald) and "Jill” (Sh.rley Ann Richards), his eldest daughter, the old man sets out to show the city Folks how a modern frock shop should be mn. As the “farmer dressmaker, he remodels the salon, and very soon is drawn into a skirmish with his opposition, “Pierre," played by Sidney Wheeler. The action is fast and furious, and the laughs are literally laid on. as “Dad” applies liis farm methods to liis city business, and “Dave” makes love to the mannequins, as only Dave can make love. To celebrate the opening of his new store. "Dad,” assisted by his publicity manager, played by Billy Raves, and liis floor walker “Ent-wist-le” (Alec Kellaway). launches a spectacular fashion parade that will gladden every feminine heart. It is then that “Pierre,” who holds a promissory note for £IOO, brings in the bailiffs. But all's well that ends well. and the manner in which “Dad” and “Dave" save the situation provides a fitting climax to this i xcellent entertainment. patrons, there will be a matinee next Tuesday at 2 p.m.
