ALFREDTON INSTITUTE MEETING. The Alfredton Women’s Institute held its monthly meeting last Friday when there was a good attendance of members, Mrs Hull presiding. Arrangements were made for the forthcoming flower show, which is to be held in the Alfredton Hall next

Saturday. 11th February. Nominations for officers for the ensuing year were taken. A pretty posy was presented to Mrs Wells, who is leaving the district. A competition for the best bloom resulted: Mrs Harman (pure white gladioli) 1. Mrs A. Napier (Amaryllis lily) # 2_. Mrs G. A. Napier (petunia) 3. A dainty afternoon tea was served ' y the hostesses, Mesdames J. Spring. Horton and W'ells. The .singing of the National Anthem concluded the pleasant afternoon.
