RIOT OF PHENOMENAL SCORING. United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON,' August 25. Scoring 63 in the first round of the “News Chronicle” £IOOO tournament at East Brighton, S. L. King established a British record for a major golf event. Another record was established by •30 players breaking 70 in a riot of phenomenal scoring. These included B. Gadd and Ylax Faulkner, 64’s, and R . YY hitcombe, 65. At St. Aloritz, in winning the Swiss open on the Samaden links with an aggregate of 136. Marcel Dallemagne had included in his total a record round of 67, four under par. At Cape Town, playing in a Goodwood Club match. S. Brown claims to have equalled the world record by doing the first nine holes of a lulllength course in 2/, seven under bogey.
