OLYMPIC BEER.
BARMAIDS STUDY ENGLISH. BERLIN. A school for English has beenopened in one of the best known cabarets in the west end of Berlin. Waiters, page boys and barmaids come to this cabaret in the afternoon. Across the front of the bar a blackboard has been put up and a teacher stand.', before it. The “pupils” sit around little tables at which, a few hours later contain wines. They repeat in chorus the English phrases: “Good (‘veiling, Kir,” “what would you like to drink ?” “Here is your change, sir,” ‘ 1 Au i' wiedcr.sehen r —good-bye. ’' The staffs of 40 cabarets, bars and restaurants in Berlin are taking part in the special English courses as part of the preparations for the Olympic Games here.
