Shouting You arc to die!” eight Storm Troopers belonging to the Iron Guard broke into the surgical ward of the hospital where M. Stelescu, the former Deputy and founder of the Crusaders League, bad just had an operation for appendicitis.! Some riddled him with 2.8 revolver bullets and others kept off the staff at the revolver point. Thirty other Storm Troopers, awaiting them in tlie streets, cheered when told that the so-called execution had been carried out. The eight then marched to the police station and surrendered.
jVI. Stalesou was originally prominent ill the Iron Guard, which he left following the assassination of the Premier (M. Ducal in 1933, and formed his own Fascist movement, whereupon he was placed on the Iron Guards’ “death list.” Hitherto he bad been closely guarded by his followers, but the precautions were lessened when be was sent to hospital.
