LARGE SUM MISSING.
FROM BANK STRONGROOM. MANGA WEKA TELLER ARRESTED. Electric Telegraph—Press Association WANGANUI, Ixist Night. On Friday last it was discovered that a sum of £7-509 was missing from the strongroom ot the Rank of New Zealand at Mangaweka and a complaint was lodged with the I>^ Detective-Sergeant -I- K. Robot—— son and Detective James Murray, both of Wanganui, made inquiries, and to-day a single man named Maurice Edward Alexander, aged 32, employed a- a teller in the bank, was arrested and appeared bt i ore a Justice oi the Peace charged taut, on June It', being a servant in the employ ot the bank, he did steal the sum of £7500, the property oi the bank. Accused was remanded to appear in Wanganui to-morrow. It is understood that the whole of the money ha-- been recovered.
