THE TRUTH SUPPRESSED.

TERRIBLE ROUMANIAN DEATHROLL. TRAGEDY MAY ENDANGER KING. United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copy light. LONDON, June 14. The Xews-Obronicie’s Bucharest eorres]H>ndent says the indignation caused by the collapse of the grandstand at the Scout review on Monday last, has risen to fury which :s beating about the throne itself. Relatives ha.ve already officially informed of the, deaths of 368 persons, but it is positively known that no fewer than 420 were killed, besides 93 ethers with broken backs and 380 with amputated legs and ii nils. The public have known the terrible results of th<> disaster from tlie beginning. but the newspapers were only allowed to print an official communique stating that only three were killed. The suppression of facts is interpreted as r«n attempt to shield those responsible lor the catastrophe which. it is asserted, was caused by criminal negligence, poor work and the use of defective material. Many ol those killed belonged to distinguished families. One paper says: “This happened because the King is surrounded by liars and robbers.” Another says: “Roumania is a land without a responsible Government, but nobody expects any member of the Government to be punished, and since the grandstand builders were Jews, they will probably be made the scapegoats.”
