Lyle (Great Britain), 6—2, I—6, 6—3. The British defeat was due to Aliss Stammers’’ inconsistency. She did not reproduce yesterday’s brilliance especially against Airs Fabvan, and was also very erratic in the doubles when she lost her service at 4—4.
