HUGE ORDER FOR SANDBAGS. (Received 1 p.m.) United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON. February 12. Doctor Salter, a member of the House of Commons, said be had been told by a London missionary meeting that the British prisons had received a rush order for a million sandbags for military purposes, on which prisoners were working overtime. Dr. Salter declined later to amplify the statement and said the .information was unimpeachable but he intended asking a question regarding the matter in the Commons. The Prison Commission admits the order for 500,000 bags.
