Two thousand of the five thousand air mail letters and packets salvaged from the City of Khartoum wore enclosed in special envelopes and wrappers and readdressed at the Sydney General Post Office. Of t hesci about 1500 were delivered in Sydney and the rest dispatched to various parts of the State and New' Zealand. The Monowai carried a portion of the New Zealand mail.
