RUAWHATA TENNIS DANCE.

HAPPY FUNCTION. The dance held on Eriday last in the Ruav.liata schoolroom in aid of ttnnis club funds was the gayest and jolliest of functions. Proceedings went with a swing from the \ ery commencement, and the musicians, Nils W E. Cook (piano! and Nil* T B. Millie, provided particularly spirited music, while Mr W. D. Harris ably controlled the doneC hildren as well as adults had a good time as a polka was included for their benefit and also several games, little Kathleen Brown proving the winner eft the musical pareels. A •mould” game provoked hilarious laughter. Plenty of items were forthcoming, some of them of quite a novel nature. Messrs J. Bradley and B. Denny both danced the Maori haka. Mr Dennv also gave several songs. Mr Pat AfcGurkinsliaw gave an able exposition of the charleston and also contributed songs. A delicious supper was served by the ladies of the club.
