CABINET APPROVES.
GRANT FOR NEW POST OFFICE.. The member for the district, Sir Allied Ransom. Alinister oi Lands, forwarded the folk-wing telegram to His Worship the Mayor (Air J. D. Wilson) this morning': “With reference to the proposal to erect a. new Post Office at Pah uv lua I am pleased t * advise, for the information of the district that I have received, from the PostmasterGeneral a memorandum, dated 22nd inst., the text of whic h reads as fol‘ln reference to the representations you have made to me from time to t’me regarding the need for the provision of a new Post Office budding at Pahiatua I have pleasure in informing you that to-day Cabinet ap proved of a grant for this purpose and also for the erection of a residence for the Postmaster.’ “Both these buildings will be erected on a, site more centrally situated than that on which the existing Post Office stands and instruction, s have been given for their construction to l>e undertaken as soon as possible.”
