K AIT AAV A MEETING. (By Press Correspondent.) Airs Gibson presided at the usual monthly meeting, there being a good attendance of members. Proceedings were opened by the singing of the "Ode to Friendship” and several verses of “Comrades and Friends,” followed by recital of the creed. The motto for tho afternoon was read by the president, “Judge no one by his relations, whatever criticism you pass upon his companions. Relations, like features, are thrust upon us; companions, like clothes, are more or less our own selection.” A roll call on the uses for lemons was taken when some very useful hints were disclosed by members. It was decided to hold the. birthday party early in November and all arrangements were made accordingly. It was agreed to hold the next meeting on oth December. Airs Holdaway and Airs H. Jewel's were appointed delegates to attend the Federation meeting at Hamu.i. Airs Holdaway was judged winner of the monthly points competition—a prettiest bowl of flwers. Airs Wylie was placed second and Mrs AY. S. Lell thi rd. An appetising afternoon tea was served by the hostesses. Alesdames AY. and T. Burgess, after which they arranged a competition, the most flower names in three minutes. and Alis ('hisnail annexed the prize. The singing of the National Anthem concluded a busy afternoon.
