MANGAMUTU TENNIS CLUB.

OFFICIAL OPENING. The official opening of the Mangamutu Tennis Club’s courts took place during the week-end. An exceptionally large number of players . and visitors, nearly one hundred in number, attended from sui rounding c lubs as far distant as Kumeroa. The president, Mr J. G. Brechin, in declaring the season open, extended a cordial welcome to the visiting players and expressed the hope that their various clubs would experience a successful season. A tournament was run, but owing to tin* large number of competitors, only two rounds wore able to be played. Several players tied, but on the count back of the number of points scored against them Mr I. MacKav, of the Kumeroa club, proved * the winning gentleman and Miss M.
