“CHU CHIN CHOW."

A GLITTERING SPECTACLE. Combining spectacle with drama, i omance, comedy and the never-to-be-forgotten music of Frederic Norton, “Chu Chin Chow” provides glittering material to appeal to every taste, its pageantry enhanced by skilful handling and acting of classic style. Tn its settings, this magnificently produced Gaumont—British picture reaches great heights, those responsible for its vivid panoramas having excelled themselves. Grouping of large crowds, costumes of great beauty and dance ensembles of a most original order are among other features which have been combined into a great film—quite the finest musical play toi date from any British studio. The brilliant production is an enlarged version of Oscar Asehe’s famous musical play —without doubt the most famous of alt musical plays—for it held the stage uninterruptedly for four years, before touring the world. For many of us, the forthcoming Gaumont-Bri-tish super-production will revive Ovid memories; nor can it fail to win the enthusiastic applause also, of those to whom the unparalleled run of the original stage play is •■niv history. It is admirably composed to compel the interest of young and old, for who among us, but must yield to the entraneement ot the immortal legend of Ali Baba and tin Forty Thieves! This gorgeous Gen miont-Hritish spectacle is being distributed through the agency ot Fox Films and will screen at the King’s Theatre* on Tuesday. A fine east includes George Hobev, Fritz Koi tner. Anna Mav Wong and John Garrick. Excellent fcaturettes include Cinesound News, British News Mirror News (topical) and “Eye ftpv” (a clever novelty)
