SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
PURCHASE OF RADIO SET. A meeting of the Pahiatua District High School committee was held in the office of the Trust and Agency Corporation last evening. The chairman, Air G. Godfrey Taylor, presided and there were also present Messrs W H. Alureh (secretary), I'. Burr. W. R. Richardson, P. J ' Afatthews, \\ J. Alills and IV. Barrett, apologies for absence being received from Alessrs E. Stevens and E. H. Lett. The headmaster (Air J. Alarsh) was also in attendance. Correspondence from the Education Board and others was read and discussed. The- Chairman reported receiving a call last week from the Dental Supervisor. Air Elliott, who discussed various matters relative to the Dental Clinic.
Accounts amounting to £1 3s g<J were (passed for payment. Messrs Richardson and Burr were appointed visiting members for the month and • authorised :tdi|iut a man on to clean up the grounds of littered leaves, etc. .... ...
Bleissrs Alureh anti'Burr., who- had' been., appointed a. .sub-committee for the.' purpose, reported on their enquiries, re radio installation and after, considerable discussion it was decided to acce.pt_Mi--.JA., -Mer-gie’s tender for a seven valve set toge-tfu-r with two extra, speakeys ,pir-d ,t pic®-tkp on to thS sehbbP gramophone. The chairman . notified that he would donate a prize at Christmas to the boy showing the most all-round progress during the year, irrespective of standard, and also a philatelic prize to the best stamp collection, same to be judged by himself.
