MAORI LONGEVITY
“The Press periodically reports the death of some Maori who is an instance of extraordinary longevity,” said the Bishop of V aiapu in an address to the Wellington Philosophical Society. “Most of these accounts must be accepted with reserve. Until comparatively recently the Alaorii reckoned his age. net by years, but by events, and the inquiring pakeha might he easily misled.”
