CLAWED AND CHEWED.

LION TRAINER'S END. United Press Assn —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. CHICACO, May 14. Herman Zeiler. the famous Los Angeles lion tamer, was severely mauled by lions and died muttering excuses for his pets. He blamed himself for stumbling and complained that his favourite lions Mars and Menelik clawed and chewed him. “I never would have expected it, for I trusted them and treated them like pets, but they are just big kids. They did not know what they were doing,” said Zeiler before he died.
