The monthly meeting of the Pahintua Women’s Christian Temperance Union was held in St. Paul’s Schoolroom on Thursday afternoon. Mrs J. D. Wilson (vice-president) presided over a fair attendance of members. The scientific fact dealt with the lessened power of resisting disease, due to the drinking ol alcoholic I i q n ors. Arrangements were made to hold the Band ol Hope on the first Wednesday in the month, commencing in May. Mrs Johnson and Mrs Willis were hostesses for the afternoon.
