SATURDAY'S FIXTURE. The response from trotting owners oil acceptance night was very iflensing ami. with entries from Christchurch, Auckland. Hawke’s Bay, Wairarapa, Hauera, Blenheim, Wellington. arid Wanganui, in addition to local and district stables, there promises to be an exceptionally high standard of trotting produced at the Alanawatu Club’s meeting on Saturday. There .are- such well-known mentors as F\ J. Smith. (Auckland), the Dominion’s leading reinsman for flu* current season, J. and A. Bryce (Christchurch), L. Berkoff* (Nelson), L. Thomas (Lower Tinll) and J. Gerrard (Hastings) figuring among tJio visiting drivers who will he engaged.
The club will operate the one-pool system of betting with cue dividend where tlh.e fields are of five o,- less f runners; two dividends for fields of six, seven and eight runners, and three dividends where there are nine or more. Patron® will find the* post positions of the horses announced in the rncebook itself, while the fullest arrangements have been mado for patrons at Awapuni on Saturday, and there is every indication that a mast successful fixture wjll materialise.
