Electric Telegraph—Press Association AUCKLAND, This Day A comprehensive review of the dairy industry position lias been issued by Mr William Goodfellow, who says that dairy farmers will be relieved to know that the* British Government does not want a. conference .for the purpose of discussing restric tions of imports during the period of the Ottawa Agreement. He points out that tin now agreement with Britain will have to be negotiated before the Ottawa Agreement expires and for the purpose of ensuring that New Zealand secures favourable terms and of benefiting the industry generally, he suggests the following plan for the consideration of the Government : 1. National economy, including 50 per cent. reduction in the size of Parliament 2. Reduced tariffs and rates. 3. Bring exchange back to par with sterling. 4. Replace t'Ji.e exchange premium with a. temporary subsidy. 5. Encourage dairy farmers to breed, pigs, ewes and poultry. 6. Maintain the quality of dairy produce. 7. Reorganise the Dairy Produce Board. 8. Actively push sales in all new markets. 9. Establish three large central patting plants in the United Kingdom. 10. Push and advertise “Fernleaf” pat butter throughout Great Britain.
