BOWLING TOURNAMENTS.
-PAHIATUA AND PALMERSTON N. Splendid weather prevailed yesterday for the holiday. A progressive pairs tournament took place on the local bowling green. Sixteen players participated and the order was four games of 13 heads. For the skips Meadows (Wellington) and Hooper (Eketahuna) tied, with three wins each ; and for tlie leads Arrow, Baxter and Johnson also tied with three wins each. In the Manawatu Centre's annual pairs tourney held at Palmerston X yesterday, J. E. Murphy and G. B. .Hodd had one win. and three lossesE. Britland and G. Kershaw had two wms and two losses, and |>. M Walsh and J. A. Walsh one win and three losses.
