WOOL, SKINS, HIDES.
PALMERSTON NORTH SALE. At the monthly sale of wool, sheepskins, hides and tallow by Abraham and Williams, Ltd., there was a decided rise in values for sheepskins. An exeeptionallv large catalogue was offered to a full bench of buyers, and competition throughout was very keen. Finer sorts of wool were more in demand, with a rise Id to 2d per lb- while other sorts were very firm. Bidding for sheepskins 'was very animated. Fine sorts were up Id to _d per lb, good full-woolled skins up to Id per lb, while all other sorts were up }d to Id per lb. The demand for hides was of the best. Ox hides were firm, heaw cow depreciated £d to Jd per lb. medium weight cow was firm, and light cowrose in value up to jd pec lb Calfskins dropped in value Id to 2d per lb. The tallow market was firm.
