BEST FOR YEARS.

CHRISTCHURCH'S CARNEY \ L WEEK. Electric Telegraph—Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Christchurch is enjoying the best National week for many years. Accommodation at all the leading hotels is overtaxed, -and the attendances at the Winter Show are a record. The Totalisator at Riccarton yesterday jumped last year’s total b.v £7,000, so that the racing had to conclude in the dusk because the staff were kept so busy. There was the unusual sight of the totalisator being illuminated for the final tickets! In addition the weather is gloriously fine and everyone is in holiday mood.
