Three tigers, escaping from a circus at Plymouth, caused a pandemomum among 3000 spectators. One returned to the cage and the others leaped over the heads of startled city councillors in the front row and mingled with the audience. Women fainted or screamed and rushed to the exits. tigers snarlingly emerged from the tent and dodged among the side-shows pursued by the trainer and attendants, soldiers and sailors, who eventually recaptured them. The only casualty was a woman who was scratched.
