KUMEROA WOMEN'S INSTITUTE

In spite of the very inclement weather there was a good attendance of members present at the J une meeting of the Kumeroa Women’s Institute. Mrs B. H. Norman, president, was in the chair. Miss Ohvyn Cranfield, of Uopeliinds, gave a most pleasing and interesting demonstration on the making of paper flowers, her exhibits of rhododendrons, cosmos and bulbs being beautiful. On the motion of Miss Ivy O’Hagen, a hearty vote of thanks was accorded the demonstrator. An amusing roll call “What Our Men Folk Think of the Women’s Institute,” brought forth some interesting answers. Next meeting there is to be an exchange of best recipes, and a competition for the best article made from flour bags. Mrs Jim O’Neil had on exhibition a rug made of cows’ tails, which was much admired. The hostesses were Mrs Norman and Mrs Newbrook.
