Disapproving of criticism ol an Italian medium named Millosirco, published, in the P ychical Research Society’s journal, Sir Conan Doyle lias resigned from the society and has sent a letter to the chairman, Sir Lawrence .Jones, desc-i-diing the article ais a series oi misrepresentations and insulting innuendoes, which implied that an Italian nobleman had; practised comp! icnteA* frauds upon a circle of his friends. Ho added: “My only recourse is to resign after 36 years’ patience and publicly to protest against the society’s unscientific and hi:-sed work.” Sir Conan Doyle has circularised members, declaring that the society lias become an ant—spiritualistic. organisation, and, urging them, to hand in their resignations. A reply issued by Sir L. Jones and the secretaries states that Sir Conan Doyle’s writings have given him great pleasure.
