the public halt. The Hukanui Public Hall, has been renovated and enlarged, at a cost of over £2OO. The re-opening celebrations will take place on 26th inst, when the music, the floor, the supper and dance partners will be of the best. Tlie local school lias gone up- in grade and the teaching staff augmented. A new asphalt tennis court has been constructed, on land generously given by Mr O. Udy. The annual school picnic will be held oil Friday next.
