TRAVELLER FALLS DOWN SHAFT. Electric Telegraph—Press Association HOKITIKA Last Night. A commercial traveller, H H. Doughty, of Christchurch, while proceeding in a motor cr. r near Dillanaus this morning,, loft the car to pick Horrors near t-li© roadside when he fell clown an old shaft 80 feet deep. Help wca abtained by his companion, his mother-in-law, and the man was hauled to the surface by ropes. He received extensive injuries to the face, head r.nd back though no bones were broken. He was taken to the Westland hospital and is 11017 conscious.
