Our catalogue comprised, an excellent selection, drawn from Atari bo rough, Nelson, Taranaki. Wairarapiu and Alan a.watu districts.
Competition was extremely good and j>rices can be considered, distinctly dearer than previous Wellington sales and quite on a par vriih the recent sales held at Napier. For the well-known 11 ;u\'kcsbuiy merino clip, grown by Mr Cl F. J. Gbulter, of Marlborough, we obtained''the record price for New, Zealand of 29Jd per lb. For greasy wool, as compared with December sales, fine half-bred was Id higher; coarser and medium I’d higher; fine crossbred Id to lid higher; medium crossbred and coarse crossbred lid to 2d higher; low cross-bred Jd to Id higher; lambs lid to 2d higher. All skirtings showed substantial advances. The sales closed with a firm tone.
