FRENCH PLANS.
FURTHER ADVANCE. ARMED OPPOSITION EXPECTED Electric Telegraph—Press Association Copyright. (Australian-N.Z. Cable Association.) (Received this day, at 10.30 a.m.) London, January 17. The “Daily Mail’s” Dusseldorf correspondent states the French have completed plans for dealing witih any situation that may arise. The belief prevails throughout the Ruhr that an advance is likely on [Munster. It- is rumoured that forces of the Reich-swchr there may attempt armed opposition. The madness of such an enterprise is apparent, to anyone who watched the ,march of th© perfectly equipped French army with seventy-fives, howitzers, machine guns, armoured cars and tanks following closely after cavalry and infantry regiments.
A prominent member of the French- mission told the “Time>s” Dusseldorf correspondent that there is nothing they are not prepared to do to oblige the industrialists to abandon their -present attitude. They will go t-o Berlin if necessary.
