FORD AMBULANCE CAR.
The advisability of seeming a motor ambulance for the hospital was suggested by Mr Jex-Blake at the Gisborne Hospital Board meeting. He mentioned that the medical superintendent, Dr .Bowie, was very keen about the matter, considering a motor ambulance- would be much more useful than the present horse ambulance that was now kept in town. It was sug-
gested. that a Ford car might be obtained, and an ambulance body could be attached to it. and by having another top it might also be used for conveying goods from town to th? hospital. It was proposed that a special nurse should go out with the ambulance, and this would obviate relatives going up to the hospital with patients in a cab, thus no doubt preventing the risk of iulection being spread. The chairman. Mr Humphreys, added that be had brought forward a similar proposal previously, but members of the Board then considered there would probably be some of these ambulances available « F ter tin- war was over. It was decided to obtain a report- from the medical superintendent on the subject.
