Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report on their Dannevirkc sale as follows : An exceptionally heavy yarding of sheep came forward and a good entry of Cattle. In sheep the demand for best lines of breeding ewes was particularly good and prices for same were fully maintained on recent market reports. The demand for inferior sorts qf sheep were only moderate, although prices received must be considered highly satisfactory. The do. maud for cattle was slightly easier, but we quitted the bulk of our yarding at fairly good prices. We report ae follows: Sheep—Small shorn lambs, 10s <kl; medium, to 12s 9d; best lines, to lh> 3d; medium woolly lambs, 12s 6d to 13s; 2-tooth wethers, medium 20s: best linos, 22s to 235; medium 4 and 5-year breeding ewes, 18s fkl to 19s; mixed aged breeding ewes, 21s 3d +o 235; 2-tooth owes, 225; ditto, good, to 25s sd. (This latter price was obtained for a nice lino, of 200 Romney owes sold on Ivehalf of Mr E. W. Poole, Motca.) Cattle 18-month heifers, dairy sorts, £2 IPs to £3 15>; Polled Angus ditto, to £4 10s, forward 2-yi*ar off heifers, £4 1.55, 18-month steers, £1 4s to £5 10s; aged cows and calves, £5 to £5 2s; light fat «ws, £0 17s Od to £7 10s; 2J-year steers ,to £8 12s (id ; yearling bulls, £3; 4-year bulls, £7.
