HIGH PRICE OF POTATOES

EXPORTED TO. AUSTRALIA

A Wellington linn reports that potatoes are again being exported to Australia, and this coming as it does at the end of the season and after a large export trade has been carried on forsome months has sharply advanced values. The marked in the South is excited, and values are linn. A few

new potatoes are arriving from Auckland district. Good seed lines aro still available. Pollard and bran have advanced, doubtless consequent on the artificial feeding of stock in dry Southern areas. Local supplies of prune abaft' are getting short, and Southern firms are asking increased rates. Good quality lines are in fan- demand, and the low prices quoted mostly represent inferior quality. Oats have v/eakoned slightly. The soiling prices for porkers keeps up well, ahd the demand is decidedly good.
