Tho biennial report of the Independent Order of Rechabites states that 45,000 members out of the Hl9, 754 adults in tho Order are serving with the colours. Two of them have been awarded the Victoria Cross. It is proposed that the contributions of all these members should be paid for them. A detailed scheme is undor consideration by which a special levy will bo imposed on the whole uniformly so that no specially patriotic district shall sutler. Tho levy is to bo spread over a number of years. The burden of the benefits paid to members on active service too will be spread ever the whole order so that no district shall slitter from a heavy casualty list. Tho total membership by whom these burdens will be borne is given at G45,'J94.
