The whole population is absorbed in the wedding, the imagination having been quickened by the reconciliation, oi the houses ot Hohenzollorn and Hanover. The newspapers note the glowing warmth oi welcome to the English Sovereign wherever he appears. At one moment a huge crowd hemmed in King George’s motor car waving hats and cheering him for live minutes. Some of the crowd attempted to shake hands with His Majesty. King George’s and Queen .Mary’s visit to Grtlenwadd racecourse was appreciated. King George, receiving a British deputation, said: “We are pleased to be the guests of this great friendly nation. By festering kindly relations you help to asuro the peace of the world, the preservation of which is my fervent desire as it was the chief aim of my father’s life.”

The rout® was lined with military six deep, and. the crowd was swept back into the side streets. The Kaiser, wearing a Russian uniform, in comany with King George, welcomed the Czar' in state. There was a splendid military reception, hut Wednesday’s geniality was absent. A brilliant six,lie marked tlie State banquet at White Hall. Admiral Jellieoe was among the wedding guests, and was accorded a long interview.
