In the House of Commons, oa clause 15 of the Home Rul* 1 Bill, dealing with tlie powers of taxation, Air Hayesx-Fislier moved to remove the power of the Irish Parliament to vary any Impe-rial tax. Air John Redmond, leader of the Irish Nationalists, said lie considered the lirst financial scheme a good one. The new projiosaLs deprived Ireland of certain powers, hut the Government liad taken the wisest course in whieli the Irish party would acquiesce. Mr Lloyd-George, Chancellor of the Exchequer, announced that the committee stage of the Welsh Disestablishment Bill would he taken on Friday evening.
