New Zealand stock almost exhausted. New Zealand hinds 3Jd, New Zealand fores 2^d. Butter: Market quiet, firm at the close. The lonic’s shipment was pretty well cleared, buyers awaiting the arrival of the Turakina on Monday. New Zealand 131 s per cwt, Danish 1345, Australian 1275, Argentine 1255, Siberian (stocks small) 1245. Cheese : Market firm, with more inquiry. New Zealand 70s, 71s per cut., Canadian 725.
Hemp: Market active, with good demand, but quieter at close. New Zealand, good fair, £2l ss; fair grade, £2O 15s; Manila hemp, fair current, graded, £2l; January to March shipment, good fair, £2l os; fair, £2O 10s; fair current Manila, £2l 10s. The output from Manila for the week was 26,000 bales. Cocksfoot: Market is firm with an improved demand. It is reported that it appears probable that larger quantities of Continental seed will be available next season. Danish is quoted at an average of 76s 6d. Wool: Market quiet and firm. The current quotations for Bradford tops are: 36’s low crossbreds, Is Id per lb; 40’s low crossbreds, Is lid; 44’s medium crossbreds, Is ljd; 50’s halfbreds, Is 5Jd; 56’s quarterbreds, Is 7jd; 60’s merinos, 2s Id.
