A 14.0 TEST.

Questioned by a .Dominion representative regarding two cows which lie exhibited at the Raetihi show and for which the phenomenal tests of 14.0 and 10.9 were claimed, Mr Milligan said that Buttercup, the champion, was milked by Mr Milligan’s daughter into a clean pail. He was not there at the time. The milking was done in the presence of Mr McWhirter, a member of the committee of the A. nnd P. Society, and one of the duly appointed supervisors in the milking competition. The yield was 30 pounds at the two milkings; this was handed to Mr Beatson, manager of the Raetihi Dairy Factory, tested by him, and the result was 14.0. The other cow, Pansy, was milked on the same conditions, and her test was 10.9.
