HON. A. W. HOGG AT HAMILTON.

INTERVIEWED ON VARIOUS MATTERS. Electric Telegraph—Press Association. Hamilton, Alay 1. The Hon. A. AY. Hogg, interviewed last night, expressed himself in favour of a railway between Tan rail ga and Te Puke as early as possible, which was sure to pay at once. Retell ing to the financial stringency he said the Colony was ou the turn. He was convinced that the money market would shortly he easier than it had been for the last two or three years. With regard to labour he intended to keep public work fully employed, as the Colony could afford it. He did net think there would be anything in the shape oi severe distress during the approaching winter. He favoured native land being dealt with in an effective manner as soon as possible, also the main arterial roads being made before the bush land is thrown on the market, thus saving a great deal of suffering on the part of settlers.
