NATIONAL LEAGUE.
Electric Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, July 23. At a public meeting last night a branch of the National League of New Zealand was formed in Wellington. The Premier, speaking in support of the proposal, said he believed the National League movement would have the effect of impressing upon the people the tact that not in a spirit of jingoism, but that when the necessity arose they would gain in times of peace that experience which would 'enable them to fight for their country and King. Personally he would do all he could, publicly and privately, to mould public opinion in this direc-. tion on sound and politic lines.
