TO THE EDITOR. Sir, — I see under the heading “ Kaitawa ” in Monday’s issue, your correspondent makes reference to a visit from Mr Joyce, member for Lyttelton, to his friends on TiraumeaKaitaiva road. Your correspondent refers to Mr Joyce’s presence as the cause of the co-operative men being placed on the road- Sir, whilst giving Mr Whyte credit for being energetic and probably having assisted in gotting the men put on, I think Mr Joyce would in no way like to take the credit of being responsible for the presence of these co-operative men on the road. I presume it is very bad taste on the part of your correspondent to use a member’s name outside his own district, and a very sneering means wherewith to have a slap at his own sitting member because that member happens to represent him against his own personal wishes. Mr O’Meara did, after his return to the Honse, and in the miadle of winter, visit parts of this electorate, which, I venture to say, have never been visited by any other member up to the time of Mr O’Meara’s return, and I think he will be found as energetic as most members of the House. I am, etc., N. D. P. Tiraumea Road.
