Death of an Old Resident. By Telegraph.—Own correspondent. Mastkkton, This Day. Mr Luke Evans, for forty years a resident of the Upper Plain, died yesterday at the age of 70. Deceased, who leavos a family of ton, was in his youth a man-o’-warsman on 11. M. ships Itodney anil Castor, -l iving in the latter with Lord Glasgow. He was engaged in the Kaffir war and was present at the wreck of the Birkenhead.
