Heavy Fighting.

Further particulars of tho fighting in the Chagru Valley shows that Brigadier-General Biggs found 6000 Khals, Oraksais and Afridis occupying Dnrgl and other heights commanding the Chagru Pass. Lieutenant - Colonel Dempsters, with three Sikli batteries, were massed at CliagTu. Cotar and Siraatia Ridge. The Bikhs supported the Goorkas and Poralshure regiments, who m single file climbed the mountain path for a thousand feet under the enemy’s fire, which temporarily checked the advance. The Goorkas. who fired with great accuracy, were reserved until tlio men were exposed on the unsheltered zone. Three companies crossed this zone at a rush, losing heavily, while the remaining forces intercepted a tlank attack.
Meantime tlio artillery fire from Fort Guhstan failing to dislodge the enemy, tho Gordon Highlanders essayed to cross the zone. Many fell, but under cover of tlig. guns they ultimately succeeded in joining the Goorkhas. The remainder of the force streamed after them. The Gordon Highlanders with the other companies theu seized tlio enemy's position. Received 11 p.m. Caiai ttv, October 21. After Brigadier - General Biggs' force gained the enemy's position tho tribesmen tied. The rebels are fortifying the position commanding the Seuipajha Pass.
