With regard to the reported intention of the directors of the Bank of England to hold ono fifth of the Bank’s reserve in silver the London bankers unanimously deprecate the adoption of any scheme tending to weaken the reserve. A Nice Little Squabble. London, September 28. British authorities in East Africa have imprisoned the captain of a Zanzibar slaver despite the fact that he was in possession of papers which showed him to be of French nationality. The incident has caused excitement amongst Paris newspapers. The Triple Alliance. Rohe, September 23. M. Rudini, the Italian Premier, says the relations existing between the nations forming the Triple Alliance are most cordial towards Great Britain, and not any of them are likely to support the demand for the evacuation of Egypt by Great Britain.
Dynamite Outrage.
Madrid, September 23.
The palace of the Marquis Leix at Orenze in north-west Spain, has been wrecked as the result of a dynamite outrage.

Calcutta, September 28. Reports are ourrent here that several Europeans have contracted the bubonic plague at Poonali. Excitement in Greece. Athens, September 23.
Great excitement prevails in Greece over the severity of the peace treaty, and indignant protests are universal.
At a public meeting here attended by 2,000 citizens, a resolution was passed advocating that the Greeks fight to the last. The meeting burned a copy of the treaty amidst a scene of great enthusiasm.
Many Greek newspapers advocate a national crusade.
St. Petersburg, September 28. Count Muravieff, Minister of Foreign Affairs, has warned Greece that the mission of the Powers is ended, and any decision Greece may take upon herself will be at her own risk and peril. A Gyclone, London, September 28. A Renter's telegram states that a cyclone passed over Mesagne, near Brindisi, Santa Oria and Medroval, Italy, causing great devastation. Many houses were wrecked; 60 persons were killed and eighty injured.
