NOTICE is hereby given that it is the intention of the Pahiatua County Council, with the consent of the ratepayers interested, to raise a loan of Two Thousand Pounds under the provisions of ** The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,/ to form and metal the Pahiatua-Palmcrston road from its junction with the Ballance road, section 48, Block 111., Mangahao, to the summit at the juncture with the Range Road, County boundary. Cost of engineering, raising loan, and clerical expenses to be paid out of loan.

To meek the interest and charges of the said loan it is proposed to give the following security : (1) —To make a special rate of Twopence Threefarthings in the pound on the rateable value for the time being of the following sections:—Sections 79,116,117, 78, 76, 72, 71, 69, 74, 78, and 68, Block VI., 48, 49, Block VII., 12 and 7, Block all in the Mangahao Survey District. (2) —To pledge such proportion of the annual net proceeds of a toll to be established on the road as will pay the necessary interest. It is also proposed that in the ovent of the Fitzherbeit Boad Board completing their portion of the road, on the west side of the summit, out of loan money borrowed for that purpose, by forming and metalling such road for dray traffic, then twofifths of the net proceeds of the toll to be handed over to that Board to meet interest on the loan, etc.
