THE CINEMATOGRAPHE.
To-night our readers will have tho opportunity of witnessing the most unique exhibition ever presented in Pahiutua—the Cinematographe—the une which has been so successful throughout New Zealand. The Wellington Evening Tost, in noticing the exhibition, said : First, the living presentment of Samlou, the strong man, stood before us, and as he bent and turned like a living statue, wo saw the magnificent development of the muscles of his body; a burlesque Highland Fling by a dozen stage Scotchmen caused roars of laughter. An ambitious subject was a presentment of the execution of Mary Queen of Scolts m ail its details ; the interior of a bar jer's shop crowded with moving figi res; a wrestling match between a man and a dog; a champion lady ritie shot tiring at and breaking thtown glass bulls; a rescue of children from a burning building ; u military operatic march, a broadsword combat and a skirt dance by three of the “Gaiety girls" were each successive proofs of the capabilities of the invention. But the palm among the pictures must be accorded to a serpentine dance by Miss Cys, the limelight effects of which were beautifully rendered, while the grace of the evolutions far exceeded any darning wo have seen in Now Zealand." Judging by the uuiisuul interest manifested in the advent of the Cinematographe here the Olympic should be crowded tonight, and we would advise intending patrons to go early and secure good seats.
