Interviewed at Chicago
From a copy of tho Chicago Even mg Post which lias been received in this city, it would appear that the übiquitous and omnivorous American prissman got early on the warpath after an interview with “the man from New Zealand,” as Mr Seddon is designated by the above-named newspaper, Mr 11. Stevenson Smith, the Government agent for New Zealand in San Francisco, who apparently accompanied tho Premier to Chicago, attempted to protect the Premier from the army of scribes who were clamoring for an interview, but when ho heard of this Mr Seddon, whom Now Zealand pressmen know as being one of tho most accessible of men, passed the word to Mr Smith to remove tho embargo, and this being done, Mr Seddon was duly and at great length subjected to the pumping process.
Tho Acting-Premier also received by Friday’s mail a lengthy private letter from the Premier, in which he describes bis journey through America, and the kind reception ho received on every hand.—Times.
