This Day. j At the inquest on the body of : James Hobbs, who was found in the harbor yesterday, the evidence show, 1 | that he had been an inmate of the lunatic asylum for thirteen years. He was harmless.* and on certain occasions was granted leave to go and see his wife. Having stayed away all one night this leave was restricted, and on the present occasion he left without leave. Deceased went to work with the other inmat. - on Friday, but got away without being seen. He visited his wife and left on bis return to the institution at 4.30 that afternoon, and so ; far as is known was not again seen ' alive. The jury returned a verdic. that ho was found drowned, and that Hobbs was absent without j leave.
